Sunshine Coast - Incentive experiences, new funding program and ‘out of the box’ offsite events

20 February 2018

Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) will put the spotlight on exciting new signature incentive experiences the region has to offer with the launch of their new ‘Signature Experiences Guide’ at the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) to be held 20-21 February 2018, in Melbourne.

The new guide showcases the enviable selection of motivational, destination specific group activities created especially for conference and incentive groups. The image rich guide comes complete with three and four-night sample itineraries for planners to see exactly what inspirational incentive programs they can offer their delegates.

During the 2018 expo, BESC will focus on presenting:

unique offsite venues which showcase the Sunshine Coast’s natural amphitheatres; options ideal for association events; only on the Sunshine Coast incentive experiences; and how to apply for funding support via the Business Events Assistance Program.

Launched in late 2017, the Business Events Assistance Program is already paying off for the Sunshine Coast announcing two significant pieces of business for 2018/2019.

Facilitated by Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Council; the support funding has assisted in securing ‘Let’s Talk About PTSD – A Community Conversation’ to be held in August 2018 and the ‘United Nations and Overseas Policing Association of Australia Conference’, October 2019.

With applications for funding support to boost conferences, meetings and exhibitions until 2021, due to close on 1 March 2018, it is anticipated to attract keen interest from business event planners at this year’s Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) to be held 20-21 February in Melbourne.

These recent wins were further bolstered by the exciting industry announcement this week, the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux (AACB) will hold their 2018 conference on the Sunshine Coast in August.

BESC will be joined at AIME by stand partners from the Sunshine Coast, selling the region as a premium incentive and conference destination. Operators include Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort, Novotel Twin Waters Resort, The Events Centre Caloundra and destination management experts, Beyond Experiences.

BESC will offer a Sunshine Coast experience prize package via a business card draw including two nights accommodation at Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort including breakfast, exclusive Noosa Fresh Air Experience with Beyond Experiences, dinner at Noosa Beach House by Peter Kuruvita and cooking class at The Cooking School Noosa plus rental car hire.

Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) is the convention bureau for the Sunshine Coast. It sits as a dedicated unit within Visit Sunshine Coast, the regional tourism organisation for the Sunshine Coast. BESC is a not-for-profit, membership based organisation.
