Marketing opportunities

As part of the overall Visit Sunshine Coast trade marketing strategy, VSC attends annual trade events and hosts key trade in region in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and Tourism Australia (TA) initiated trade events and familiarisation (famil) visits.

Familiarisation Program

Visit Sunshine Coast regularly organises independent trade visits and also supports TEQ and TA initiated familiarisation itineraries.
Familiarisations are an invaluable part of the trade marketing mix, and provide an opportunity for operators to introduce key trade partners (including decision makers and front line sales agents) to the Sunshine Coast to obtain a hands-on, personal experience of our region,  and showcase the diverse range of products and experiences on offer to visitors. Furthermore, familiarisations provide an invaluable opportunity for operators to deliver a personal sales training through the exchange of knowledge.

Trade Events

Visit Sunshine Coast coordinates and participates in a number of international trade shows and events each year to promote the Sunshine Coast as a premier travel destination. The majority of these trade shows and events coordinated by Tourism Australia and Tourism and Events Queensland, and are held within key international markets bringing together the Australian tourism industry, travel agents and travel wholesalers from around the world.

As part of these key travel trade events, VSC works closely with our trade and leisure members to showcase the Sunshine Coast in itineraries pre or post to leading domestic and international buyers.

Audience: domestic and international trade and travel agents.

Cost: complimentary accommodation or free entry to attractions/tours is requested in return for exposure and reach to these prominent distribution partners.
