Heidi Meyer appointed to VSC Board

Tourism industry professional Heidi Meyer has been appointed to the Visit Sunshine Coast Board as a member-elected director.

Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) has welcomed industry professional, Heidi Meyer, to their board.

Ms Meyer is the owner and creative director behind The Badderam Eco Luxe Resort & Spa, which received approval from Sunshine Coast Council earlier this year.

The VSC Board is made up of industry, business and local community representatives in six skill-based and three member-elected positions.

VSC Board Chair David Ryan said Ms Meyer’s appointment was a welcome addition to the Board and her passion for sustainable tourism would make her a great asset.

“Heidi brings considerable experience of the tourism and hospitality sector to the Board at a time when the Sunshine Coast is undergoing a rapid expansion of its tourism industry,” he said.

“I’d like to thank the outgoing member-elected director Fraser Green for his excellent contribution to the Board and to Visit Sunshine Coast’s members over the years.”

Ms Meyer’s development, The Badderam Eco Luxe Resort & Spa in Buderim, is the first international standard luxury resort to be approved on the Sunshine Coast in more than 30 years and is poised to become Queensland’s first zero waste resort.

Heidi’s career in tourism spans 23 years, having previously worked as a travel writer and luxury hotel interior designer.

Industry professional Winston Hall, of AccorHotels, was appointed to the Board as a skill-based director in October 2018.

At the recent VSC AGM on 21 November, Board members Mark Skinner and Rodger Powell were also reappointed as skill-based directors.
