Maleny local invites the world to explore Sunshine Coast

Tourism and Events Queensland’s ‘Find your perfect next’ campaign continues to roll out, using Queensland locals to share the state’s tourism secrets.

Maleny local Matt Jancauskas shares the beauty of the Sunshine Coast hinterland in the latest ‘local invitation’ video release.

The 90-second video, sharing the story and inspiration behind Mr Jancauskas’s Brouhaha Brewery and Restaurant, is being promoted together with a series of destination blogs aimed at key target markets in South East Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne, inviting visitors to explore another side of the Sunshine Coast.

The campaign is jointly funded by Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC).

TEQ Chief Executive Officer Leanne Coddington said the local invitation approach was a genuine way to inspire travellers to explore Queensland on a holiday.

“Now more than ever word of mouth is a primary source of holiday planning and our local invitation series makes the most of this trend, showcasing Queensland locals sharing their secrets and inviting travellers to explore their region,” Ms Coddington said.

“Matt’s passion for the brewing business is clear throughout the video, and the way he describes the local produce as the inspiration for the beers makes you want to go and try them for yourself.

“This is such a genuine, Queensland approach to tourism marketing and visitors can expect more of that famous hospitality when they visit.”

Visit Sunshine Coast Chief Executive Officer Simon Latchford said featuring a real local such as Matt to tell his story and inspire travellers to explore the Sunshine Coast, is an exciting and powerful marketing tool.

“The video brings to life and showcases a different side to the Sunshine Coast than travellers might be familiar with. The region is so much more than just stunning beaches; we also have a lush hinterland and vibrant food and craft brewery scene that is really taking off.

“Matt’s passion for the Sunshine Coast is obvious and highlights another reason for visitors to explore the region for the first time, encourage repeat visitation or stay longer.

“When people come to the Sunshine Coast we want them to feel welcome and engaged with our authentic experiences and this video and associated digital promotion provides a platform to tell this story and is another great example of what our destination has to offer,” said Mr Latchford.
