Sunshine Soiree success

Last week Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC), a division of Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC), held their annual Sunshine Soiree in Brisbane.

The event showcased the region’s best conference and incentive products to our southern neighbours, allowing tourism operators to share ‘what’s new’ on the Sunshine Coast and inspire Brisbane delegates planning their next corporate event.

This year, more than 40 Brisbane based corporations attended the Sunshine Soiree at Tumbling Stone Restaurant and Bar to meet and hear from 20 Sunshine Coast tourism operators.

The interest incited from the event reflects the upward trajectory the business events market is experiencing on the Sunshine Coast.

Just this month, Novotel Twin Waters Resort announced construction of a new $8 million conference centre which, combined with their existing Wandiny Pavillion, will have the capacity to hold 3,400 delegates.

The following week a significant new four-day food festival, The Curated Plate, was announced for the region and is earmarked to be the biggest of its kind in Australia.

Supported by VSC, The Curated Plate will make its debut from August 8-11, 2019.

These announcements show investors are confident in the investment opportunities and growth of the Sunshine Coast as a destination.

Our beaches and year-round attractive climate is the primary reason visitors choose to holiday here, and the same can be said for the business market.

Delegates are looking for more than just a great venue, they are after a conference location that delivers a quality experience - and the Sunshine Coast offers just that.

Our range of venues are set against the backdrop of the region’s naturally beautiful landscape, from the Glass House Mountains to our stunning coastline.

Adding to the appeal is how easily the Sunshine Coast is accessible from Brisbane - as well as Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide via direct flights into Sunshine Coast Airport.

After a few nights in our region, delegates are ready to return to work refreshed and recharged.
