We've scoured the region for the best of the best. Breakfasts that will get your tastebuds going and have you leaping out of bed at the very thought of the delicious food to come.

These Sunshine Coast cafes and restaurants have embraced the region's delicious locally grown produce, creating breakfast menus that not only taste fantastic but utilise produce unique to the area. And did we mention the coffee? The Sunshine Coast has a thriving coffee roasting scene that needs to be tasted to be believed!

There is something for everyone and every budget, with breakfast experiences ranging from quintessential surf club culture to breakfasts at hatted restaurants that will please even the fussiest of epicureans. Take your pick and soak up the delicious flavours, washed down with your choice of sweeping hinterland or sparkling ocean views.

Highlights include the raw treats, delectable smoothies and colourful breakfast bowls on offer at Acai Brothers on River Esplanade, while Three Little Stones on Mooloolaba Esplanade serves locally-roasted coffee alongside exciting breakfast choices that are perfect for adventurous palates. Mooloolaba Surf Club, Alexandra Headland Surf Club and Maroochydore Surf Club all also offer delicious breakfast options with impressive beach locations and views.

Enjoy a coffee and deli-style dining at Maleny Food Co, with gluten free, dairy free and vegan options all available. Secrets on the Lake, which is situated in the rainforest next to Lake Baroon, also offers incredible food with panoramic water and rainforest views. The acclaimed Long Apron restaurant at Spicers Clovelly Estate, which was awarded two Chef Hats in the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Queensland Good Food Guide, is also set within the lush hinterland bushland but offers a more European-influenced, fine-dining breakfast experience that is ideal for fussy epicureans.

Eumundi

For breakfast treats that will tantalise your tastebuds without breaking your budget, head to the iconic Original Eumundi Markets. Delicacies on offer from the various stalls range from artisan pastries, crepes and cronuts, to savory empanadas and Brazilian tapioca, to fresh juices and locally roasted Flying West coffee.

Noosa

A stroll along Noosa’s iconic Hastings Street will uncover a range of breakfast options. The beachside Bistro C is a favourite with locals, serving up delicious and unique takes on traditional breakfast fare, such as green eggs and ham. Celebrity chef Peter Kuruvita’s restaurant Noosa Beach House at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort offers contemporary dining with a breakfast smorgasbord that includes  made-to-order omelettes. Alternatively, pull up a seat and enjoy the people-watching at the Hastings Street stalwart Aromas Noosa, which has been serving up delicious coffee and café fare for 26 years.

Caloundra

You’ll be spoilt for choice around Caloundra. Pocket Beach Espresso is a ‘pocket rocket’ espresso bar that offers outstanding coffee, a great view and a small yet tasty menu of breakfast items. Its neighbour, Moffat Beach Brewery also offers delicious breakfast options. Overlooking Pumicestone Passage, Sandbar Café and Kiosk offers relaxed, affordable dining and is considered by many to be a must-do Sunshine Coast foodie experience. Mets on Kings at the Caloundra Surf Club offers panoramic views of Kings Beach and delicious, budget-friendly breakfast fare, while the Coffee Club at Rumba Beach Resort offers the café’s well-regarded menu in a scenic beach-side location.

Buderim

Situated on top of Buderim hill, the Buderim Tavern offers spectacular coastal views, with favourite breakfast dishes and a few exotic options, such as the Turkish or Spanish breakfasts, served up on Sundays from 8am to 10am.

Gympie

You can’t get much fresher than enjoying a breakfast of berries picked straight from the patch at Cooloola Berries. The on-site café is also renowned for its pancakes, while other treats such as waffles and scones are also on offer. Café Jilarty at Rainbow Beach is another great option in the area, serving up a range of breakfast options that hero the freshest local produce.
