An active day out with Lightning stars

07 Aug 2020

Nowhere does hometown pride run stronger than in the region’s very own national netball team, Sunshine Coast Lightning.

Elite netball athletes Laura Langman and Steph Wood love living on the Sunshine Coast, and have shown off some of their favourite spots to be active, eat and relax on the Coast.

Win the morning, win the day!

There is no better way to start a day out on the Sunshine Coast than with a mountain climb in the picturesque Hinterland according to Steph and Laura! The girls love to stay fit off the court, so Mount Ninderry, a short but steep climb that takes approximately two hours return, is a one of their favourite climbs. Once at the top there are breathtaking views of the Sunshine Coast with different viewpoints facing the coastline and hinterland.

Lunchtime at the Wharf

After a morning climb, the girls head straight to on of their favourite spots at Mooloolaba to fuel up with a fresh and tasty lunch at the Wharf. Spero serves up delicious street style Greek food with stunning water views over the wharf, the perfect place to relax and unwind after the mountain.

After a tasty lunch where the pork belly baklava is a favourite, Steph and Laura love to support some local business and stores at the Wharf.

An Alex Afternoon

Is there a better way to relax after an active day out on the Coast than by the beach? One of Laura's favourite things about the Coast is the beach, so what better way to spend their afternoon? Steph and Laura enjoy a walk along the pristine Alex beach before sitting along the iconic wall at Alexandra headland for stunning views towards Mount Coolum.
