Long lunches and degustation dinners at The Curated Plate

Long table lunches, carefully crafted banquets and veritable feasts have filled the program line up of The Curated Plate’s Destination Series with one common denominator – seasonal regional produce as the star of each and every show.

Menus continue to ‘wow’ as chefs create edible masterpieces, or inspire you create your own, bringing the paddock to the plate with the Sunshine Coast’s freshest and the best.

The Long Lagoon Lunch – a Sunshine Coast seafood banquet

Winter days on the Sunshine Coast are a splendid natural treat. Bright blue skies, with a fresh sun-kissed warmth, beckon to be enjoyed along with fine food and wine.

The Novotel Twin Waters invites you to enjoy the coastal serenity, a sumptuous seafood feast and welcoming hospitality of The Long Lagoon Lunch.

A beautifully themed long table spans the private sandy beach of the lagoon that is the central oasis of the Novotel’s lush tropical gardens. As exclusive guests you will enjoy the privacy and sheltered calm of a gently lapping shoreline as you connect with nature and be treated to a locally inspired seafood sensation.

Fresh Moreton Bay bugs, Sunshine Coast Blue Swimmer crabs and Mooloolaba prawns are crafted into exquisite canapés infused with light exotic flavours. Enjoy a glass of wine as you breath in the beauty of the day and fresh seaside air.

Showcasing the Sunshine Coast’s abundant fisheries, locally caught reef fish is the hero of Executive Chef Murray Paterson’s lunch, aromatic Asian flavours enhancing the bounty of a premium ocean harvest.

The decadent finale, is a glorious grazing platter featuring an array of local cheeses, honey and the Coast’s most divine handmade chocolate, Kokopod, as its show stopping centrepiece. Extend the afternoon in the Tipi cocktail bar while you soak up the ambience along with some relaxing tunes.

On the other side of town, on the edge of the lovely Lake Kawana, the waterfront grazing continues with Wildflower Restaurant & Bar’s ‘Create Your Plate’ and the opportunity to create your own magical arrangement of local ingredients.

Chef Graeme Mair’s passion for local produce shines.  Torched Little White Goat’s Cheese creamy feta, a superstar in its own right in his sensational orange and hazelnut salad entrée offering, beautifully adorned with edible flowers.   

Be mesmerised by a sublime coffee braised beef, a divine fusion of Your Mates Brewing Co. beer and Kai Coffee, imparting a rich earthy combination of flavours to this succulent melt-in-your-mouth dish.

An incredible grazing platter of fabulous dishes made with premium local ingredients; freshly shucked oysters, camel milk, seasonal vegetables, strawberries – and so much more; allowing the diner to construct their own stunning combination. You will even get the opportunity to meet some producers who will be there to share their journey and guide your through a selection of courses, through to dessert, complemented with Sunshine Coast Cider, wines and craft beers of Your Mates Brewing Co from just down the road.
