The Sunshine Coast's best food and beverage festivals

Vegan wine and cheese, BBQ festivals, grape stomping, and food truck carnivales - no one is going home hungry!

The Sunshine Coast is fast becoming a hub for some of Queensland's best regional eats - and it isn’t short of food and beverage festivals that celebrate the best of the region's fresh food, produce and wine. Here's our pick of the region's food festivals you shouldn't miss.

1. Noosa Vegan Festival - 21 April

Enjoy a feast of delectable plant-based cuisine at the Noosa Vegan Festival this April. Sample an unbelievable selection of vegan food delights, vegan wine and discover a range of cruelty-free cosmetics, non-leather shoes and bags as well as nutritional and fashion products. TIP: It’s Anzac Day so take two days off work, stay for five and give yourself a real holiday.

2. Food Truck Carnivale - 5 – 6 May

As part of the Mooloolaba Beach Festival, the Food Truck Carnivale will bring together 15 of Australia’s best food trucks in the one spot. Entry is free so soak up the sun, get something tasty to eat and wash it down with an ice-cold bevvy! Sounds like the perfect weekend to us.

3. Noosa Food and Wine Festival - 17 – 20 May

The Noosa Food and Wine Festival is a world-class event that celebrates great Australian food and local produce. With the iconic Noosa lifestyle influencing the festivals laid back but stylish atmosphere, you’ll get to indulge in beautiful wines and great food cooked by house-hold names, set along Noosa’s beautiful beach and iconic Hastings Street.

4. Goomeri Pumpkin Festival – 27 May

Goomeri invites thousands of people to check out their impressive display of pumpkin antics each year in May at the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival. With plenty of activities on offer such 'Pumpkin Power Shot Put', a heritage and outback street parade, cooking demonstrations to watch and local produce to try, this quirky event is not to be missed!

5. Noosa Craft Beer Festival - August

With 20 breweries and more than 80 local, international and traditional beers and ciders on tap, the Noosa Craft Beer Festival promises to be an entertaining day perfect for friends to catch up and enjoy themselves. Entry is only a gold coin donation which means getting to spend more on your favourite brews while still donating to a good cause - the festival supports Sunshine Butterflies and PA Breast Cancer Research.

6. Caloundra Chilli Festival - 24 November

Caloundra turned up the heat on Bulcock Street last year for their inaugural Ignite Caloundra Chilli Festival. Festival goers are already impatient to sample more spicy and delicious cuisines from around the world and enjoy cooking demonstrations for more information on everything that's so hot right now.

7. Sunshine Coast Craft Beer & Cider Festival – 1 Dec

After its successful inaugural year in 2017, the Sunshine Coast Craft Beer and Cider Festival will be back to serve you the best regional and national brews in December 2018. With countless beers on tap, an array of delicious street food and live entertainment to keep the good vibes going, those who attended last year are already impatient for the festival to return!

8. Ginger Flower and Food Festival - January

The Ginger Flower and Food Festival, held annually at the Ginger Factory, is a calendar highlight for cooking enthusiasts and those who love to have their meals with a dash of zing. With ginger beer, plenty of ginger plants to take home and cooking demonstrations to teach you everything you need to know about the humble ginger, you’ll fast become an expert in the countless ways to incorporate ginger into your meals!

9. Asian Food Festival - TBA February

Last year in Febraury, Spicers Tamarind Retreat hosted the Sunshine Coast's first ever Asian Food Festival, and delievered a dream of delicious flavours. Tickets included six mouth-watering Asian dishes with three matching beverages. BYO picnic blanket to relax in the sunshine with live music in the background. Stay tuned on which dates to pencil in your diary for 2019!

10. Flame Hill Grape Stomp - 24 February 

Join Flame Hill Vineyard as they celebrate their grape harvest at the annual Stomp festival. Crush barrels of grapes, indulge in fine eats and listen to some live entertainment set among the vineyards shady lawn. With plenty of wines to taste and grapes to be stomped, it’s a wonderful day out.

11. Kenilworth Cheese Wine & Food Fest – Easter

Spend the day in the country in Kenilworth. in the heart of Mary Valley. Go and enjoy the Cheese, Wine and Food Fest which showcases the unique range of the Mary Valley's finest foods, liqueurs and wines. See Queensland's only Cheese Rolling Contest and Great Cheester Egg Hunt for the kids.
