The Shed at Aussie World

In early January, the Shed at Aussie World is pumping with tunes from all over the world as world class acts come to perform for their Australian audience. On 5 January check out The Official Blues Brothers Revue who are on a mission to deliver the most dynamic and authentic Blues Brothers show to hit Australian shores. If rock music is your thing, then you can miss American rock icon and Songwriters Hall of Famer Richie Sambora uniting forces with Orianthi for an Australian summer tour for the ages on the 11 of January. Not to be missed is James Reyne , an up and coming man of rock on 19 of January and closing the month off on the 27 of Jan is Sunnyboys who are back from the 80s and ready to burn bright again.

For the third year running, the Caloundra Arts and Crafts are putting on Unite, Inspire, Paint, an art exhibition which features over 200 painting in all forms from 45 local Sunshine Coast artists. You can even walk away with a souvenir with all paintings available for purchase or just enjoy the artworks and vote for your favourite one. Why not make a day of it and visit all the other wonder art galleries on the Sunshine Coast Arts and Craft Drive. You’ll find hidden gems and pockets of creativity within the region.

The Sleeping Beauty

Experience a performance like no other at The Australian Ballet’s Storytime Ballet, The Sleeping Beauty  held at the Events Centre in Caloundra. Watch in awe as the performers use dance and ballet to tell you the story of a beautiful princess who must sleep for 100 years, until woken by true love’s kiss. A refreshing take a on a classic childhood fairy-tale, it’s the perfect way to share in storybook fantasy with the whole family.

Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

The competition heats up as the Suncoast Spinners host a world class wheelchair basketball tournament. Athletes from all over Australia, including those who have competed in the Paralympics and World Championships. put on a display of skill and sportsmanship that is incomparable anywhere else. A must-see event on the Sunshine Coast.

The Queensland Oztag Junior State Cup is coming to the Sunshine Coast, with state-wide players flocking in to experience the best of the region.
