Noosaville visitor guide

13 Jul 2016

Noosaville is only five minutes from the glamour of Hastings Street in Noosa, yet it has quite a different atmosphere.

A casual yet stylish ambience is set by its interesting collection of multicultural restaurants, bars, cafes, clothing stores and shoe stores, which line trendy Gympie Terrace and Thomas Street, overlooking the tranquil Noosa River. Children’s playgrounds, ferry stops, fishing platforms and riverside walking tracks give Gympie Terrace a delightfully playful and relaxed mood.

With its safe swimming and riverfront activities, Noosaville is an ideal destination for a family holiday — many fall in love with Noosaville’s beauty, affordability and proximity to the beaches and attractions of Noosa Heads, and return year after year.

Noosaville offers a brilliant variety of accommodation styles to suit all tastes and budgets, from luxurious apartments and beautiful resorts, to affordable family holiday homes and spacious self-contained apartments — most with peaceful river views.

Things to do

Start by exploring the charms of Thomas Street, Gympie Terrace and the riverfront, perhaps beginning your holiday with a picnic or a barbecue of freshly caught seafood by the river to get your bearings. Catch a ferry right into Hastings Street in Noosa, marvelling at some of the lavish waterfront homes along the way, or slide a couple of kayaks into the river and paddle down to Tewantin. There you can browse the stores and galleries of Noosa Marina, followed by a visit to the excellent Noosa Regional Gallery. You’ll find boat hire and fishing charter outlets along the riverfront at Noosaville. When it comes time to indulge your tastebuds, book at a table at the superb Japanese Wasabi Bar and Restaurant, which made it into Gourmet Traveller’s Top 100 list, or dine at any number of top restaurants in the Noosaville region.

The Noosa River Festival is held each May and celebrates three full days of fishing, sailing, rowing and family entertainment. All of the major events that happen in Noosa throughout the year are easily experienced when you stay in Noosaville, only five minutes away.
