Time for an epic Sunshine Coast girls weekend

19 Aug 2020

Gather your best gal pals and get ready for a weekend of fun, adventure, events and unforgettable memories

Pamper yourself

Indulge in a little bit of TLC at some amazing Sunshine Coast spas. Choose from a luxury selection of massages, facials, mani's and pedi's, as well as pamper packages, specials and so much more. Spend your day soaking up some serious relaxation with the girls knowing you are in the capable hands of pamper professionals. The Sunshine Coast has a wonderful selection of spas and retreats including, Organica Day Spa, Lillypilly's Cottages and Day Spa, Amytis Gardens Retreat, Day Spa, Ikatan Day Spa Noosa, Noosa Spring Golf and Day Spa, Ripple Massage and Touch of Power Mobile Resort Massage - take your pick!

Cafe Crawl

The Sunshine Coast food scene has absolutely exploded! You will be spoilt for choice with award-winning restaurants, funky cafes and groovy bars. Start at The Pocket Espresso Bar by Moffat Beach for breakfast, kick back with coffee at The Caf Coolum, get off the beaten track for farm-fresh food at The Velo Project in Mooloolaba, stop by popular hinterland gem Monica's Maleny, discover a hidden gem at Grounded Woombye or indulge in some decadent afternoon high tea at Aimee Provence.

So instead of choosing just one spot to enjoy, a café crawl is definitely necessary and the best way to see the sights along the way.

Climb Mount Ngungun for sunset or sunrise

For some, this might not seem like an ideal way to spend a girls' weekend, but it's definitely worth it! You will need, active wear, runners, a back pack, cheese, crackers and dips. What better way to end the day then watching the sunset over the Glass House Mountains as you enjoy a homemade cheeseboard? Don’t forget a torch for your short walk down to the car park.

Wining and dining

It wouldn’t be a getaway with your gal pals without a trip to a vineyard to sip and sample a delicious selection of local wines. You will be treated to a variety of estate-grown, hand harvested wines that are enriched with passion and dedication. Flame Hill Vineyard offers genuine paddock-to-plate experience sourcing most of their produce from their very own backyard.

Get your drink on

Did anyone say cocktails? The Sunshine Coast bar scene is booming, from cocktails to local craft beer, cool cat basement bars and beachside bevvies, everything you could ask for!

Have some sundowners at The Rooftop Bar in Maroochydore, try cocktails with a twist at Rice Boi or Spero at the Wharf Mooloolaba, get glamourous at Kiki Bar, sip away in an oasis at Hong Sa Bar tucked away in the Spirit House or watch the sun go down over all the boats at Pier 33 with a wine or beer to keep you company.

A girls' weekend is the perfect time to dress up and head out for a cheeky cocktail or two, enjoying the company of your besties whilst making lifetime memories.

Get arty

Spend some time and enjoy leading local and national artists at Caloundra Regional Gallery.

For a change of pace, head to the Hinterland and discover the The Sunshine Coast Art Gallery Trail. This tour is for the cultured who like their art fix served with a generous side of local. Stops include; Art on Cairncross, Montville Art Gallery, Maleny Art Direct and Obi Valley Woodworks.

If you prefer to try your hand at creating something yourself, stop in at The Pottery Studio in Nambour. Immerse yourself in clay and see what creations emerge!

Ride into the sunset

Rainbow Beach Horse Rides specialise in a different type of beach walk; we’ll give you a hint, it involves a horse. They hold the only permit in existence to ride along Rainbow Beach, so you just know it is going to be a pretty amazing experience. Choose from a variety of different horse ride adventures from beach strolls to taking a four-legged paddle, full moon rides and even personalised rides.
