7 Sunshine Coast Marathon

Sunday 19 August

The 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon is one of the most-loved running festivals in Australia.  Since its inception, the marathon has raised over one million dollars for charity and community groups. Event distances include the 42km Marathon, 21km Half-Marathon, 5 and 10 kilometre runs and the 2 kilometre dash. Each race follows the stunning coastline of Alexandra Headland with spectacular vantage points alongside the beachfront walk.

Sunshine Coast Art Prize Awards

16 August to 14 October  

The Sunshine Coast Art Prize is one of the most dynamic and prestigious visual arts awards in the country.  Artworks by 40 finalists from across the country are showcased in a stunning exhibition at Caloundra Regional Art Gallery. Now in its 13th year, the Sunshine Coast Art Prize has grown into a nationally recognised award that attracts an exciting mix of emerging mid-career and established contemporary Australian artists.

Experience the creative soul of the Sunshine Coast. Immerse yourself in 10 days of arts and culture at the Horizon Festival and enjoy visual arts, music, street art, comedy, theatre and dance performances and displays at venues right across the Sunshine Coast. Horizon celebrates local artists and indigenous groups and showcases Australian and international guests and strives to connect creatives, industries, communities and audiences through a nationally recognised celebration of arts and culture.

Peppers Noosa 2018 Black Tie Charity Dinner

Saturday 25 August

Join special guest Rosie Batty for an evening of gourmet food, wine and live entertainment at the Black Tie Charity Dinner. Held in renowned local chef Matt Golinski’s enchanting View Restaurant, at Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas in Noosa Heads, all proceeds from the charity dinner will assist domestic violence emergency housing and support networks across the Sunshine Coast.

Noosa Craft Beer Festival 2018

Saturday 25 August  

The Noosa Craft Beer Festival is back for its fourth big year. Noosa Heads will be transformed into a beer lover’s heaven with over 80 craft beers and ciders from over 20 local, national and international brewers to sip, sample and taste. Enjoy truckloads of tasty food and live local entertainment throughout the day.

Manafest

Saturday 25 August   

Pop culture comes to life on the Sunshine Coast with Manafest, a celebration of pop, Asian, and alternative culture. Highly visual and immersive, Manafest showcases an offbeat and vividly entertaining world with opportunities for everybody to engage in hands-on activities including live action role playing, crafting workshops and free games. Enjoy live performances, music and anime film screenings, and hang out at the after parties at the Japanese-inspired Maid Café and Bison Bar in Nambour.

Gympie Music Muster

Thursday 23 August to Sunday 26 August 2018

Kick back with a hoot and a holler at the 2018 Gympie Music Muster featuring a stellar line-up of over 100 country acts and artists on five stages over 4 days. Australia’s favourite outdoor country music and camping festival is held on 50 scenic acres in the Amamoor State Forest, an easy drive two hour drive north of Brisbane and just 40 minutes from stunning Noosa.

Noosa Classic

Sunday 26 August  

Bicycling Australia’s Noosa Classic draws riders from around Australia and overseas to the magnificent Noosa region - a mecca for sporting events. Designed to showcase Noosa’s ideal cycling terrain, the 160 kilometre course starts in Noosa Heads, climbs out over Noosa’s Main Beach, and winds through the Noosa Hinterland before returning through the Mary Valley, Kin Kin, Lake Cootharaba and Boreen Point.

Ironman 70.3 Sunshine Coast 2018   

Sunday 26 August    

Mooloolaba offers the perfect year-round climate and is an ideal location for Ironman 70.3 Sunshine Coast. This is a world class course attracting international competitors. Participants will start with a 1.9 kilometre swim off Mooloolaba’s famous surf beach followed by a 90 kilometre flat and fast bike course through Alexandra Headland and Maroochydore. A 21.1 kilometre run will tie up the day’s exciting events with a two lap course around The Esplanade, jam packed with spectators.

Maleny Music Festival

Friday 31 August to Sunday 2 September  

The Maleny Music Festival is an exciting three-day event packed full of live music, workshops, street entertainment, poetry, cabaret, a children’s venue, open mic stage entertainment, food and artisan vendors, and licensed bars. The festival will deliver a line-up of home-grown, interstate and international artists and over 75 acts in a diverse range of music styles including reggae, rock, gypsy jazz, country, blues, folk, Latin, Irish and more. AFL Queensland State Carnival

Friday 21 September to Tuesday 25 September  

Watch some of the game’s up-and-coming super stars fly high at the AFL Queensland State Carnival. Teams from fourteen regions around Queensland and Northern Rivers NSW will converge on Maroochydore to test their AFL skills against the best players in the State. Competitions include Under 14 Males, Under 14 Females and Under 17 Females.

Miss Rockabilly Ruby’s Beauty School

Sunday 23 September  

World renowned hair and makeup artist Miss Rockabilly Ruby will be visiting Nambour to present her popular Miss Ruby's Beauty School. Demonstrating vintage hairstyles, setting techniques, proper comb out and product knowledge, you’ll be able to get up close, ask questions and take photos. You don't need to be a professional hairdresser in order to take this class, everyone is welcome!

Caloundra Music Festival

Friday 28 September to Monday 1 October 

Birds of Tokyo, John Butler Trio, The Living End, The Waifs and the Temper Trap head up an explosive list of artists locked in to perform at the renowned 2018 Caloundra Music Festival. Enjoy four days of sun, surf and soul at beautiful Kings Beach in Caloundra. Take in tunes from an exciting line-up of international and home-grown artists, have dip in the ocean, dance in the sand and pick up some tasty treats in the food precinct … and then repeat!

Trans-Tasman Gubbi Gubbi Waka Ama International Outrigger Championships

Saturday 29 September to Monday 1 October  

The Trans-Tasman Gubbi Gubbi Waka Ama Championships is the only international outrigger championship series held exclusively for junior paddlers in Australia. This epic showdown attracts hundreds of young paddlers aged between eight and 19 years of age. Hailing from Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands; teams, doubles and individuals race over a three day period on the Sunshine Coast’s Lake Kawana. It’s a truly spectacular experience!
