Mooloolaba to Coolum Beach is a long stretch of coastline connected to parks, shops, restaurants and attractions just waiting to be explored. There are so many wonderful places to explore including: Cotton Tree, Maroochydore, Marcoola, Alexandra Headland, Twin Waters, Eumundi, Buderim, and Bli Bli.

Fun for everyone

From bustling esplanades to uncrowded havens; this slice of the Sunshine Coast has it all. If you fancy some fresh seafood, take a trip to Mooloolaba Spit or hop on one of the many fishing charters to catch your own. From June to November, you can venture out  and swim with whales or stay aboard on a whale watching cruise.

If you prefer an ocean adventure on dry land, take the kids to Sea Life Sunshine Coast, where you can discover thousands of marine and freshwater animals or visit Sunshine Castle at Bli Bli for some medieval fun.

Feast on gourmet delights by the sidewalk, sip a cocktail in a bar, or soak up some live music along Ocean Street in Maroochydore, a vibrant hive of cultural activity. Or head over to Sunshine Plaza, the largest shopping centre on the Sunshine Coast, where you will find hundreds of retail stores, restaurants and cinemas.

A surfing mecca

Coolum Beach is a family-friendly town with a carefree holiday atmosphere, patrolled beach, skate park for the kids, affordable dining options and lots of accommodation houses that offer ocean views. Stroll along the elevated boardwalk to Point Arkwright at sunset or order some fish and chips and head to the sand for dinner. With surfing hot spots, this beautiful coastal town is in constant view of Mount Coolum, a grand volcanic dome that presides over the landscape. Alexandra Headland or Alex Heads as the locals call it, is also reknowned for its consistent, quality surf. 

Eumundi Markets

Eumundi is a refreshingly lush and hilly Noosa hinterland shopping village that mixes a historic Queensland village atmosphere with a modern and very vibrant arts community all centred around the famous Eumundi Markets.

Secret spots

If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to have a family picnic by the water, check out Cotton Tree. There are many great eateries to uncover along this stretch, as well as barbecue areas and plenty of shady cotton trees to have a nap under. The kids will love paddling around in the shallows or other popular facilities include outdoor table tennis, basketball and playgrounds galore. 

Just ten minutes from the coast is leafy Buderim, home to the spectacular Buderim Falls and Buderim Forest Park Reserve. Spend the morning in the rainforest and hit the beach in the afternoon.
