Mooloolaba restaurants with family-friendly food feasting fun!

From the kids’ menu in the local surf club to nipper-sized servings from some of the precinct’s leading restaurants – Mooloolaba has plenty of family-friendly dining options that will satisfy the fussiest of little appetites without breaking the budget.

Mooloolaba Surf Club serves classic pub fare in an airy dining room overlooking the rolling waves and white sands of Mooloolaba Beach. Breakfast is available from 8am, making the restaurant the ideal place to fuel-up if a day of exploring beckons. Mains are served from 11:30am ‘til late with the menu boasting an enticing array of mod Oz cuisine and daily specials. Kids’ lunches and dinners from the aptly-titled Nippers Menu, are just $9.95 and include an ice-cream cone dessert. There are also a range of gluten-free, vegetarian and dairy-free options on the menu.

The Dock Mooloolaba

With a winning combo of stylish interiors, Mooloolah River views, and 16 beers on tap, it’s no surprise that The Dock has become a local fave and a hit with holiday makers. The lunch and dinner menus feature a range of smoked and grilled meats alongside classics such as beer-battered barramundi and chicken shnitty. Kids’ meals are $14 and are served with a soft drink and ice-cream. The Dock is the perfect place to grab lunch before hitting the water on Whale One to enjoy a whale watching experience or for exploring what lurks at the bottom of the ocean at nearby Sea Life Sunshine Coast.

Augello’s Ristorante & Pizzeria

Modern Italian cuisine meets relaxed, coastal dining at Augellos – an iconic eatery located on bustling Mooloolaba Esplanade. Although the vibe is casual, the gourmet pizza, pasta and chef’s specials are top-notch with the restaurant recently winning the ‘Best Pizza in the World’ award for a fig-infused pizza base topped with duck a l’orange. Take a seat on the deck overlooking the Esplanade and dine al fresco, or wander upstairs and enjoy your meal with a side of ocean views. Young ones will love the kids’ menu featuring pizza and pasta dishes ranging from $8 to $12. Bookings are recommended.

This swish restaurant on Parkyn Parade has been wowing visitors with locally-sourced fare, chic Hamptons-inspired interiors, and sparkling views of the Mooloolah River. It’s the ideal spot for long, lazy lunches and the generous share plates of fresh seafood and local produce will be a hit with the whole family. The nippers’ menu features $12 delights including local fish with salad, chicken rolls, or fresh tomato and cheese pasta – all served with a whipped soft serve! Children are very welcome at Pier 33 and the restaurant often runs kids’ activities during seasonal holidays.

Acai Brothers

If you’ve over-indulged on your holiday and need to reboot with a serve of healthy food, head straight to Acai Brothers on River Esplanade. Everything tastes as good as it looks with a seasonal menu based around fresh fruit served in bowls brimming with colour and flavour. Seriously, no kid could refuse one of their extraordinary fruit bowls - their tastes buds will be dancing after one mouthful! Three Little Stones

Soak up the holiday vibes and ocean views with some relaxed beachside dining at Three Little Stones (formerly Gainsbourg) on Mooloolaba Esplanade. This little outfit punches well above its weight in the food stakes, and you’ll struggle to choose from the many delicious options available. (TIP: order the melt-in-your-mouth croque madame). The children’s menu features egg and bacon sandwiches, chicken and chips, or for the little sophisticate, a ham and cheese brioche toastie will hit the spot.
