Business Events Assistance Program


Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) in partnership with Sunshine Coast Council offers support for eligible conferences, meetings or exhibitions that have the potential to be held on the Sunshine Coast.  Business events are recognised as making a significant contribution to the local economy and the Sunshine Coast presents a diverse and attractive events offering for event organisers. The Business Events Assistance Program seeks to support events which align with the region’s high value industries and raise the profile of the destination.

Criteria for support

To be eligible for support, business events must meet the following criteria as a minimum. Preference will be given for events that target or are aligned with Sunshine Coast Council’s high value industries (Aviation and Aerospace, Clean Technologies, Health and Wellbeing, Education and Research, Tourism, Sport and Leisure, Agribusiness, Knowledge Industries and Professional Services). 1.    Events that will target a minimum of 200 delegates and conference for a minimum of two full days.

2.    Events that will attract a minimum of 75% of delegates from outside of the Sunshine Coast region.

3.    Events must occur entirely within the Sunshine Coast Council area (including accommodation and key event activities)
