We’re three quarters way through the year – surely, it’s time for a long weekend to recharge those batteries! Sun, sand and cocktails are all on the list of turning a good long weekend, into a FABULOUS long weekend - and Caloundra can tick all those boxes for you.

09:00AM – Grab your partner, a bunch of friends or take off for a bit of me-time and escape reality by driving towards the beachy shire of Caloundra. If the surf is calling your name, there are a number of beach breaks suited towards beginners to those who know what they’re doing. Or if you would prefer to cruise around, make tracks to Bills Boat Hire in Golden Beach – they’ve got everything from kayaks and SUPs, to small boats and BBQ boats. Or if a romantic cruise up Pumicestone Passage is more your speed, then you need to head to Caloundra Cruises, which do picks ups from Pelican Waters or Tripcony Lane near Bulcock St.

12:00PM – After a morning on the water, we can hear your stomachs rumbling! And what better way to fill them, than to visit the Seafood Market @ Caloundra, freshly cooked seafood and an onsite gourmet deli, you will be spoilt for choice! Have a picnic on the beachfront or take it back to your hire boat.

Or check out the newbie on the block, White Picket Fence, for a brunch or lunch to linger over. Already gaining a huge following, there are plenty of healthy choices to choose from, as well as delicious pastries and great coffee – what’s not to love!

03:00PM – Time to check into your weekend accommodation, and Caloundra has plenty of options. One being the stunning Rumba Resort with its beachfront location, the premium spa apartments with views and the onsite 26 Degrees bar. Or if a rooftop pool is everything you want and need, Pumicestone Blue Caloundra Resort has a 12th floor heated pool & spa with spectacular views of the Ocean, the passage, Bribie Island & the Glasshouse Mountains.

06:00PM – If you can tear yourself away from your beautiful accommodation, it’s time to ditch the car and head for a sundowner at one of Caloundra’s many bars. Drift Bar, located on The Esplanade at Bulcock Beach, has it all – with live music, varied selection of craft beers and beautiful views enjoyed from their outdoor dining. We’d cheers to that!
