Nothing to look forward to this weekend? Why not plan a staycation in the beautiful beachside shire of Caloundra! With plenty of options for those looking for an action-packed adventure weekend, or those after some R&R, Caloundra has it all.

08:00AM – Bounce out of bed, grab the car keys and make your way towards Moffat Beach. First up, we know you need something to get you going, and you can smell the caffeine in the air! Groundskeeper Willie is a local coffee roaster and tea brewer, with a pop-up shop conveniently located steps from the beachfront – and dog friendly if you’ve thrown the pooch in the car too!

Why not hire a SUP or Jet-Ski and go exploring – cruise over to the Northern tip of Bribie Island for a secluded day on the beach without the crowds (heaven!). Or if you’re a history buff, mosey on over to Fort Bribie to stumble across a piece of WWII history.

10:00AM - If you’re looking for some action, Caloundra has the goods – 1300 SkyDive will get your adrenalin pumping! Beach landings, learn to skydive courses and stunning panoramic views, they’ve got you covered 7 days a week. Prefer to get your adrenalin kicks on the water? Make tracks to Caloundra Jetski Hire & Safaris at Bulcock Beach, they have plenty of options to suit all levels from a laid-back cruise around the Pumicestone Passage, to their epic jet-ski safari packages for those who have a need for speed.

12:00PM – Whether you’ve been chucking yourself out of a plane or beaching yourself it’s time to sample some local fare. Can we suggest the newly opened Your Mates Brewhouse – the local craft legends have a new space to house all their award-winning beer, as well as a great lunch menu. Or if you prefer a taste of France, the One Third French Café & Wine Bar along Caloundra’s main drag is ready to welcome you for a long, lazy lunch - we’ve never met a French cheese we didn’t like!

03:00PM – After a big lunch, and maybe a couple of cold ones, why would you want to drive home! Check into one of the local accommodation options to keep the weekend fun going, there is plenty of options to cater for everyone. For those who are keen golfers, or perhaps after a spot of pampering, rest your weary head at Pelican Waters Golf Resort & Spa – breathtaking views of the Glasshouse Mountains, a Greg Norman designed championship golf course, onsite Restaurant & Bar, as well as resort pool and Pelican Waters Day Spa. Um, pretty sure you won’t be leaving for the rest of the weekend!

06:00PM – For those who want to head out for dinner, the Parklands Tavern is another local favourite – and one of the best family friendly pubs on the Sunshine Coast. Call the courtesy bus to pick you up from your accommodation and follow the delicious aroma of the Tavern’s kitchen! Or save this option for Sunday night dinner if you’re staying longer, as kids eat free.
