Queensland Garden Expo

Thanks to this three-day celebration of gardening, winter is in full bloom on the Sunshine Coast. The Queensland Garden Expo is ideally located in Nambour and showcases the best of subtropical gardening. There are over 360 exhibits, great food, entertainment, and a variety of children’s activities to make for the perfect weekend for the whole family.

2. Rabbitohs v. Warriors game
24 July

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are back on the Sunshine Coast in 2021 for a re-match against the New Zealand Warriors.
Don't miss your chance to see one of the competition heavyweights in action at Sunshine Coast Stadium at this round 19 clash.

3. Sunshine Coast Marathon
14-15 August

Tackle one of the most scenic marathons in the country and run in the Sunshine Coast Marathon. Ideally timed to make the most of the ideal Queensland winter running conditions. Blue skies, low humidity and mild temperatures combined with a flat course always enable fast times.

If a full marathon sounds too far, event distances also include the Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and a 2km for shorter legs. Each race follows the stunning coastline of Alexandra Headlands with white sandy beaches and spectacular vantage points alongside the ocean.

4. Horizon Festival
27 Aug-5 Sep

Immerse yourself in 10 days and nights of visual art, music, theatre, dance, words and ideas, film and creative workshops, all inspired by the stories and beauty of the Sunshine Coast.
Come along to simply view and enjoy the artworks or performances or can join in on one of the many scheduled workshops, talks or presentations. The 2021 program is yet to be finalised, however in previous years have included ‘Garden to Plate’ cooking workshops, dance workshops and creative writing workshops.
