Discover creativity in Nambour

2020 has proven that many of us can work remotely, and that the elusive work life balance is a reality if we let it be!  Nambour is a hidden gem on the Sunshine Coast, bursting with creativity and culture, and just a short drive to our beautiful beaches. Read our guide to the Real ‘Work’, ‘Life’, ‘Balance’ that you can explore for yourself in Nambour.

For a change of scenery midweek why not set your laptop up in the cultural epicentre and original business precinct of the Sunshine Coast.  Beat the Friday traffic and book a desk at  the The Boarding Office, located in the beautiful art deco, heritage listed building on the most prominent corner in town.  This shared workspace has the most unique personality we’ve ever seen.  From street view, you will be drawn to what looks like a studio space with old boards, and as you make your way upstairs to the office spaces, you will find yourself amongst some of the most iconic surfboards of all time.  Walls full of colours and handmade crafts of all shapes and sizes.  This space will inspire creativity and make your work day a whole lot brighter!

As another fine alternative to your regular office space, why not listen to the birds sing as you work & enjoy some vitamin D among the trees in one of Nambours’ stunning local parks.  Embrace the ability to work from anywhere, and hotspot your phone and create the perfect outdoor office in Cilento Park.  Close to town but far enough away from it all that you will feel totally relaxed in nature.  Take your next business call on foot, as you make your way to the waterfalls, or set up your mini office under the covered bbq area.

Of course you are going to need some fuel to keep you going, so here’s the locals' lowdown on the best cafes to visit while in Nambour. Husk and Honey Cafe is an absolute gem with delicious, gluten-free options, everything is made on site, with love you can taste.  Set in a gorgeous and homely space on Queens St, it’s somewhere you will want to return to time and time again.

If you’re feeling like something super hearty, head on over to The Village Pickle and wrap your laughing gear around an authentic, American style burger.  Think deli style meats, pickles and caramelized onions between soft bread. Not for the faint hearted! You may need to walk it off, but don’t worry, we have the perfect idea to keep you moving…. Take a short stroll down Howard Street to BackBeat Records.  The music always sounds better on vinyl, so let yourself lose track of time browsing their extensive record collection. Lee is a local icon and his passion for good music is evident upon your first step into his store. Spend some time flicking through covers and let the music take you back, or pick up the perfect gift for your favourite music lover.

An incredible location to meet clients and finish your work for the week, Nambour’s Boarding Office is also perfectly located for lunch and knock offs above Stalwart’s Alehouse and Brewery!  This new hotspot in town is brimming with tasty brews, inspired from some of the greatest brewing regions in the world.  Brainchild of Adam Tomlinson, Stalwart’s core range of beers reflects Adam’s diverse ancestry: The Sacred Chief honours his great, great, great grandfather, a Navajo Indian from America’s mid-west who immigrated to Australia in the 1800s during the Gympie gold rush.  His second commercial release The Dreamtime Warrior is a golden ale in honour of his great grandmother who was a Kabi Kabi woman from the Sunshine Coast.  Check out the place with the vibe that has everybody talking!

If you’re heading north and need to escape the Summer heat, be sure to stop in, or on your way out, to Wappa falls.  Hidden among stunning bushland, Wappa is an easy place to pull in & hotspot your end of day work & enjoy a walk through the trees.  Easy access & just a short stroll from the carpark.  We think this is the perfect way to cool off, wind down & reset after a day of remote productivity on the Sunshine Coast.
