Ciao, pizza lovers! While the Sunshine Coast is certainly home to plenty of fabulous beaches, it’s also got a smorgasbord of choices when it comes to your ultimate pizza night.

These are just some you ‘knead’ to know about...

Maiori Pizzeria

Where: Nambour

Maiori Pizzeria, Nambour

Maoiri in Nambour has certainly got the Sunshine Coast talking! This Italian hotspot has fast made a name for itself as a local favourite for its scrumptious woodfired delights. The team here emphasises authentic Italian cuisine in their approach to pizzas, with a diverse range of pizzas, flat-breads and calzones filling the menu. Choose from familiar favourites such as a Salame (mild salami, mushroom, basil, fior di latte mozzarella), or opt for something a little left-of-field with a Lucifero (hot salami, Calabrian n’duja, basil, fior di latte mozzarella). While takeaway is available, we highly recommend booking a spot in the cosy restaurant to enjoy your pizza straight from the piping hot wood-oven.

You’re in good hands at Bocca, with Executive Chef Harry Lilai bringing plenty of experience to the table. The interior at Bocca feels light and modern, with a jovial atmosphere that sets a relaxed tone for an evening of good food, wine, and laughs. Whether you feel like a classic flavour combo (it’s hard to go past a Margherita), something with a seafood twist (AKA their Gamberi, starring marinated prawns and parsley olive oil), but you cannot look past the garlic and rosemary oil pane to start.

You can’t visit Goodslice in Maroochydore without ordering their incredible Funghi pizza. We’re talking seasonal mushrooms, truffle oil and parmesan, topped off with rocket. How could you choose anything else? Classic artisan techniques are highly valued here, with the pizza dough itself being made in-house and developing during a minimum 24-hour fermentation process. At select times, Good Slice also hosts a mouth-watering Pizza Masterclass – the best way to learn the secrets to an authentic slice!

Where: Noosa

Trendy nautical vibes abound at El Capitano in Noosa’s iconic Hastings Street. You’ll find this fabulous bustling Italian restaurant upstairs off the street, brimming with a friendly charm and plenty of good food on offer. A key point of difference at El Capitano is its famous organic 72-hour fermented sourdough pizza bases. We recommend trying their Vegan Sweet Potato pizza, which takes vegetarian delights to a new level with sweet, caramelised onion, creamy cashew nut puree and flavoursome dukkha.

Tucked away in the heart of Maroochydore’s Ocean Street, Liliana’s Trattoria prides itself on home-style Italian cuisine. Their woodfired pizzas are a real winner with locals, starring toppings we all know and love. Think Carnivora with Italian sausage, bacon, and spicy salami; and Vegetarian with eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, and artichoke... just to name a few. The woodfire garlic Pinsa bread is also worth a taste to get the party started.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you can’t look past Amore’s Nutella Bella to provide a closing note on the meal. After all, who’d refuse a Calzone Dessert Pizza adorned with sliced banana and drizzled with melted Nutella?

Long-standing Italian restaurant Bella Venezia has presided over the Mooloolaba Esplanade for more than 40 years. Multi-year Chef Hatted restaurant, Bella Venezia offers up a plentiful menu of pizza options (along with other dishes) and an extensive wine list to complement your meal. Whether you feel like a taste of the sea with their Mooloolaba King Prawn pizza, a Queensland classic in the form of their cheeky Oh No Not Pineapple, or something a little more traditional, we're sure you'll find something to satisfy your cravings.
