In Mapleton Forest Reserve and Mapleton Falls National Park, you’ll feel lost inside a land before time as you walk among lush piccabeen palm groves, grandiose bunya pines and tall blackbutt forests. This is a true paradise for hikers, mountain bikers and birdwatchers.
In fact, the highly-anticipated annual Blackall 100 ultra marathon winds its way through these rainforest trails.

When the hunger starts to bite, be sure to pop into Mapleton Public House, a local favourite for its paddock-to-plate goodness and seasonal menu, which is inspired by what's flourishing in The Falls Farm (only 3km away!).

Make sure to also pay a visit to the Mapleton Falls Lookout Platform – located at the end of Mapleton Falls Road – where you’ll be able to appreciate the breathtaking 120m drop of Mapleton Falls into the valley below. On your way home, keep an eye out for local roadside produce stalls that sell everything from seasonal fresh avocados to pineapples and honey.

Finish your visit to Mapleton with a touch of comfort and luxury at Clouds Mapleton Retreats and Mapleton Springs, or reconnect with nature at Lilyponds Holiday Park.
