Floating Land: point to point

12 Oct - 27 Oct
Floating Land is one of Noosa’s most significant and iconic free entry, all ages cultural events. The first environmental art event program of its kind in Australia (Creative Territories); the biennial event features temporary sculptural installations in nature by acclaimed local, national and international artists. Marking the 10th iteration since 2001, 'Floating Land: point to point' will have a presence across two key anchor sites – Boreen Point and Noosa National Park. The title by-line, ‘point to point’, is an acknowledgement of these two anchor sites, but it is also a statement of provocation asking artists and audiences to consider the way they move through a space and the notion that every journey made leaves a mark. From the serene shores of Lake Cootharaba at Boreen Point to the rocky outcrops of Noosa National Park and several spaces in between; visitors will be invited to experience thoughtful, challenging and environmentally aware works that engage sensitively with these special and spectacular spaces. Floating Land: point to point will run from 12 to 27 October 2019. Entry to the event is free. For more information including the event program, please visit their website.
