Applications close 30 June 2026. One lucky stargazer will receive the call-up on 1 July before heading to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for official star-counting duties from 8–10 July 2026.
Remuneration & Benefits
This is a voluntary position, but it does come with some perks:
- Return flights to and from the Sunshine Coast plus car hire
- Two nights accommodation at Narrows Escape Luxury Rainforest Retreat in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland
- Guided stargazing experience at your accommodation
- One (1) person of your choosing to bring along
- The official title of Chief Star Counter, effective immediately. Sounds great on a CV, or even better at a school show and tell.
