Sense of Place Exhibition
'Sense of Place' is a group exhibition that celebrates the diverse ways artists connect to, interpret, and express the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve environment. Curated by Arts Connect Inc. (ACI), this exhibition brings together eight emerging and mid-career artists whose work explores both the intimate and expansive, the macro and micro, of our natural world. Each artist presents a unique perspective through their chosen medium from Annie McIntosh's richly textured abstract landscapes using naturally dyed papers, to Catherine Anderson's elegant and resilient sculptures in bronze and stone, and Robyn Lowit's intricate surface designs exploring life, decay, and renewal within the Australian bush. Together, their work captures the textures, patterns, and stories of the land, its ecosystems, and cycles of transformation. The exhibition invites audiences to slow down, look closer, and reflect on their own sense of place within the environment. Complemented by artist talks and live demonstrations, 'Sense of Place' is an opportunity to experience creativity in action and deepen awareness of the natural beauty and fragility of our region.
