Sculpture on the Edge is no ordinary competition; it is evolving into an art festival that promises to create a deeply immersive art experience for all attendees. The event will run for 18 days at the beautiful Flaxton Gardens, a stunning wedding and event venue on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The competition features eclectic, original indoor and outdoor sculptures across a variety of media and the winning artist will receive the AUD10,000 first prize, generously donated by Flaxton Gardens. Now in its 13th year, Sculpture on the Edge continues to grow and will feature a wide selection of artworks for all ages to appreciate. Thanks to generous support from sponsors, donors and event partner, Flaxton Gardens, the event is an outstanding cultural experience for art lovers and visitors. The 2023 program includes the annual exhibition, workshops, artist talks and special events to create a profoundly immersive creative experience for everyone to enjoy. The workshop hosts include MonteLupo, who specialize in workshops for adults, children, and people with disabilities. 2023 is the year of Accessible Tourism, and they aim to be a leader in this field, making their event accessible for as many art lovers as possible. They are planning adaptations for people with visual and hearing impairment and programming some low sensory afternoons.
