Gather your mates and loved ones for a beachside BBQ and dine alfresco under the shade of towering trees in the sprawling grassy parklands that fringe the ocean. Don’t feel like cooking? Stroll along the Marcoola Esplanade and drool over towering burgers, poke bowls, tapas and fish and chips caught fresh off the trawler that morning.

Held every Friday from 4pm to 8pm, Marcoola Twilight Market is a celebration of food, music and good times. Feast on dumplings, doughnuts, German hotdogs and tacos with the soundtrack of waves crashing onto the beach behind you. On Saturdays, from 8am to 12pm, you can load up on the region’s freshest produce at the Farmers Market.

Just next door, you’ll find the Sunshine Coast’s unspoilt coastal haven of Mudjimba.

Tucked away from the main roads of the Sunshine Coast, Mudjimba is the perfect retreat for a relaxed getaway where sun, surf and sand are always on the itinerary.

With its wide open coastline, the swells here are perfect for surfers in search of the ultimate wave while the patrolled areas of the beach are safe for the little ones to practise on the boogie board.

We challenge you to find Nemo while snorkelling just offshore at Old Woman Island with a Sunreef tour. Departing from Mooloolaba, here you’ll get up close and personal with the locals who call this region home - including dolphins, turtles, stingrays, crayfish, wobbegongs, eels, and starfish.
