Combine your love of Easter and animals with a visit to Australia Zoo. You’ll be in for a treat of a Zoo-wide Easter Sunday Egg Hunt, a giant inflatable obstacle course on the African Event Lawn, free hot-cross-buns (Easter Sunday only), Easter Bilby Treasure Hunt, Colouring in Competition, and more. Better yet, Easter fun runs longer than a day at Australia Zoo, with activities happening from March 29 through to April 28.

For the adults, there’s also the option of enjoying a luxurious meal at Warrior Restaurant & Bar (located at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge) over the Easter Long Weekend. Find out more here.

Coastal Pathway

Looking to stretch your legs after all the chocolate? We suggest checking out the gorgeous Coastal Pathway which runs from Bells Creek (Caloundra region) all the way northwards to Coolum. This impressive 72km stretch passes alongside our sparkling beaches, with plenty of fabulous parks and photo opportunities along the way. Pick and choose which sections to start and end from, and make sure to stop by one of our fabulous local cafes for brunch along the way. You’ll also spend the night in your accommodation surrounded by luxurious comfort, with views overlooking the idyllic farm lake. At Seven Peaks Farm Stay in Beerwah, vistas of our spectacular Glass House Mountains are juxtaposed against lush green pastures where chickens, goats, and other animals, graze. As you stroll the pathways, you’ll be in prime position to pick produce from the vegetable garden and explore the fruity offerings from the orchard.

Kenilworth Donuts

Looking for something other than Easter eggs to satisfy your sweet tooth? We suggest jumping in the car and heading on a dessert-themed road trip around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Make tracks for Montville – the gorgeous mountain village famed for its scenic views – where you’ll enjoy dozens of fudge flavours at Fudgyboombahs, sugary goodness at Candy Addictions, and the lovingly handcrafted chocolate at Chocolate Country. Down amongst the idyllic countryside of Kenilworth, be sure to pick up a package of fresh donuts at Kenilworth Country Bakery. Think classic sprinkle donuts, jam donuts, and out-of-the-box fun: like their famous coffee-in-a-donut, and the 1kg donut challenge.
